Volunteer: Planting at Big Red Park

Western Resilience Center is heading up to Big Red Park in North Routt to plant Lodgepole Pine seedlings in the fire scar that burned in 2019 and is not regenerating well on its own. We are planning on three full field days with a goal of 4,000 seedlings total, so we need your help! Join us for a fun day in the woods taking action to restore our landscapes and to have some fun with other fantastic individuals like yourself.

Please plan to meet at the Stockbridge Transit Center (1505 Lincoln Ave) to coordinate carpooling. We will make sure to be back to the transit center by 4:30 p.m. This event will take place rain or shine. Make sure to come prepared for a full day in the field with appropriate layers, food, water, hiking boots, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. Gloves and other planting equipment will be provided. If you have any questions, contact Dakota Dolan at dakota.dolan@westernresilience.org. Please sign up in advance for your desired volunteer day(s). Appropriate for ages 14 and up.
