Garden In A Box sale begins

City of Steamboat Springs, Mount Werner Water and Sanitation District and Western Resilience Center are teaming up with Resource Central to bring waterwise, easy to use plant-by-number Garden In A Box kits back to the Yampa Valley for the second year in a row.

On average, homeowners and residents can expect to save 5,000 gallons of water per growing season with each Garden in a Box planting compared to a traditional grass lawn, conserving precious water supplies, saving money on water bills, and providing habitat for important pollinators.

The kits will go on sale for online ordering starting March 11, with pickup scheduled for 5-7 p.m. at the Howelsen Rodeo Grounds parking lot June 9. The first 50 local residents to order will receive a $25 discount, so residents are encouraged to join the interest list at resourcecentral.org/gardens/shop right away. Kits can be purchased starting March 2 at ResourceCentral.org/Gardens.
